Cool for Katz!

I've been dreaming of decorating baby girl's "Big Girl" room lately. Granted, I probably won't start it until summer 2009, maybe spring at earliest, but I want to be prepared! I want to have lots of fun colors and patterns and I want to sew most of it. My inspiration is from the children's book Counting Kisses by Karen Katz.

Baby and I both love this book (especially the 7 loud belly kisses). It's to the point now that when I pick up the book she shoves her feet in my face for 10 toe kisses!

Well, today I sent an e-mail to Karen Katz asking her if she had a fabric line (many of the illustations are fabric art). I expected to get a response in a few days from someone who works for her, but no...I got a response the same day directly from Karen Katz herself! Wow! I am quite impressed! Unfortunately she doesn't have a fabric line, but I've been online fabric drooling shopping and there are many fabrics out there that can create the look I'm going for. While on my quest I also noticed Karen has created toys too! I'd never seen them before but they are very cute! I especially like the Princess Baby doll!

So, if any of you reading this have kids or nieces/nephews and they don't have a Karen Katz book- Christmas is coming! Go get one!
